
Welcome to UNE Meat Judging!
We are excited to welcome you to all things red meat judging and processing. Students are given the opportunity to develop practical skills in carcass evaluation, yield grading, and meat quality assessment across beef, lamb, goat and pork processing. Members learn to apply industry standards such as MSA and AUS-MEAT specifications, improving their understanding of the links between production, processing, and consumer eating quality.
Our mission is to connect students with hands-on training and professional experiences that enhance understanding of meat quality, yield, and value across the beef, lamb, goat and pork processing. Through workshops, competitions, and social events, we aim to build confidence, leadership, and teamwork among future industry professionals. The club welcomes all students with an interest in agriculture, animal production, or meat science—no prior experience needed, just enthusiasm and a willingness to learn!
